Immortal Memories I walk in silenceImmortal Memories by =GodOfMasks
among aged and flaking stones
a graveyard with not a single name
writ upon its faces.
Rows upon rows
but only one is true
the one I seek to find
only the memory is gone.
I float through the air
down a dark twisting road
while the wind whispers beneath me
and the trees bend to touch my cheek.
I come upon a scene of desolation
of destruction and death
and it slithers beneath me
but death has two faces.
I dance with death
and its flashing fangs.
The titan of two bodies coils against the sky
and as thunder booms
it is lightning made flesh.
The dance is swift but the steps are many
and the wind has left me

Whatever could it be?
If I were brave enough to take a peek
what would there be to see?
And if I placed my eye upon
that ever-present hole
then would I be surprised
if what I saw there was my soul?

with the odds stacked up against us
with nothing but belief on our side.
We keep trying
though the way seems impossible
though the opposition seems insurmountable.
We keep trying
never knowing when it will end
never seeing what we may bring.

If I could look them in the eye
I'd scream,"I yield, I yield!"
They're in there wreaking havoc
on my teeth all night and day
those masters of invoking pain
I wish they'd go away!

and look at the sky
do you clutch the ground
to keep from falling off?
Have you ever gotten lost
without ever having moved?
