Immortal Memories I walk in silence
among aged and flaking stones
a graveyard with not a single name
writ upon its faces.
Rows upon rows
but only one is true
the one I seek to find
only the memory is gone.

I float through the air
down a dark twisting road
while the wind whispers beneath me
and the trees bend to touch my cheek.
I come upon a scene of desolation
of destruction and death
and it slithers beneath me
but death has two faces.

I dance with death
and its flashing fangs.
The titan of two bodies coils against the sky
and as thunder booms
it is lightning made flesh.
The dance is swift but the steps are many
and the wind has left me

Come Inside Lay back and relax.
We'll journey through my mind.
I can't begin to warn you
of the maddening things we'll find.
Monsters, magic, fairy-folk,
beings that kill you with a glance,
talking cats and frivolous acts
so hold on to your pants.
Or don't for there is much in there

I search within and try to find

The Existence of Certainty I've been thinking lately which is something I am wont to do. I seem to have a very different perspective on the universe and its many functions. That's the key there by the way...perspective. Perspective is something that most people never seem to acquire and it is absolutely essential if you're going to have any kind of deep thought at all. I've decided that I'm going to expand upon these ideas every now and then so here we go.

In My Nose I've found that there's a little man
who is living in my nose.
He's been dragging in his boxes
which are likely full of clothes
and pillows, sheets, and other things
that one might bring along
and all the while he's moving in
he sings a little song.
It's a pleasant sort of tune
although I can't hear what he's saying
and when he hits the higher notes
it is a bit dismaying
for his singing can be ticklish
which is a great unease.
I hate to think of what might happen

The Clearing There is a place that I can go
where everything is right
a clearing in the forest
that's always bathed in light.
Every time I go there
I'm always guaranteed
to find that it is filled
with all the things I need.

The Monster Down the Road Don't go to the house at the end of the road.
There's a monster living there
all covered in warts like a giant toad
with spiders in his hair.
He smells of week-old rotting meat
and his clothes are full of fleas.
He has a beard that's far from neat
which falls down to his knees.
He sits in that house all day and night
plotting who knows what.
It's sure to cause us quite a fright.
I feel that in my gut.
So stay away from that horrible place
with the monster living inside
and if he ever sees your face

Talking to Strangers There are so many people
on my street
that I would dearly
like to meet.
I'd like to see
those husbands and wives
all of them leading
such interesting lives.

but mother says they're strangers
and I shouldn't talk to them.
She says that about everyone

I don't know. As much as I wish it did...writing does not come naturally to me. Ideas for stories float around my head all the time but the technical skill required to squeeze them into words is beyond me.
